The officials of the  Oyo State Sustainable Development Goals office led by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde, on SDGs, Hon. Kunle Yusuff (MON, began the tour of all the SDGs projects spread across 13 Local Government areas of the state.

In line with Governor Makinde administration’s directive to complete all the ongoing projects and initiate new ones for the betterment of the masses.

The tour which started at St. Mary Catholic Primary School, Sango, Eruwa, headquarters of Ibarapa East Local Government, saw the team visiting Faramola Community Primary School, Iseyin, ADC Primary School, Ago- Amodu at Saki East Local Government before rounding it off at Baptist Primary School, Ofiki in Atisbo Local Government.

Community leaders who spoke during the tour expressed their appreciation to the administration of Governor Makinde, saying that they would be grateful if more projects are initiated to ease their suffering.

It will be the turn of Ogbomoso- Oyo- Ilora Zone today Wednesday  while the team would visit Ibadan, the state capital, on Thursday.

While reacting, the SDGs boss, Hon Kunle Yusuf  said  “You will recall that from the inception of Governor  Makinde’s administration, priority has been placed on  educational development and the SDGs office has been working tirelessly by making sure that all the on-going projects under our supervision are  completed in due time to enhance easy access of the pupils to qualitative education.

Some of the schools headmasters spoke vehemently on the need to beef up security around the schools so as to contain and curtail the act of vandalism usually perpetrated by criminals and vandals who often invade the schools compounds during and after school hours.

However, the community leaders in the four Local Government Areas visited unanimously said that since 1999 they have never seen any primary schools constructed to meet the standard that is required with all the  amenities needed  particularly with Solar energy system like the one the SDGs office has just constructed. The community leaders in return poured encomiums on the administration of Engr Seyi Makinde.

 

Moreover, Hon Kunle Yusuf (MON) assured all residents in the State particularly those at the grassroots, that the SDGs office would work  vigorously with proper monitoring to ensure that all the Projects under his  supervision are completed in line with SDGs manual.
