Earlier today, Gov. Seyi Makinde commissioned the newly refurbished and rehabilitated Eleyele Dam, a project with funding and technical support from World Bank.

The refurbished Eleyele Dam, which was implemented under the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP) is expected to put an end to the perennial flood disaster in Ibadan and also ensure that the incident of 26th August, 2011 is not repeated in history.

The Governor in his address while commissioning the Dam, noted that the Dam will also boost the supply of portable water to Eleyele neighborhoods and other communities in Ibadan.

He reiterated that his administration will ensure the continuity of beneficial projects in the State.

The Governor charged residents of Eleyele and other neighborhoods surrounding the dam to avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
