This afternoon, Gov. Seyi Makinde commissioned the Police Mobile Squadron in Ago-Are.
The Governor in his address at the commissioning of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), 72 Squadron, Ago-Are and presentation of six JAC operational trucks to the outfit made it known that his administration remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives/properties of the citizens of the State as security remains one of the four major pillars which his administration rest upon.
He added that he made a request for the PMF 72 Squadron in August 2019, while appreciating the Inspector-General of Police for cutting bureaucratic bottlenecks to grant approval for the Squadron.
The Governor also appreciated the traditional institutions, elders and leaders of Ago-Are in particular and Oke Ogun in general for their support while charging the officers of the Unit to be efficient in the discharge of their duties.
He added that the Government will ensure the quick completion of the Permanent site of the Mobile Force.
Also, in attendance was the Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Adamu who was represented by the DIG (Operations); the commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Compol Shina Olukolu and other high ranking officers.
