The Oyo State Hospital Management Board was created on 28th May, 1987. It currently shares the same building with the Ministry of Health and has three zonal offices at Inadan/Ibarapa, Oyo/Ogbomoso and Oyo North/Saki. It also has fifty one health outlets within the state. Oyo State Hospital Management Board provides an all encompassing health care that is accessible, affordable and high quality with a view to restoring, transforming and repositioning our health sector.

The state hospitals management board is saddled with the responsibility of overseeing of State owned Medical Facilities throughout the State.

An Integrated Community Responsive Health Care System, which provides qualitative accessible and affordable health care-delivery to the State and thereby a healthy/productive populace.

To provide excellence in Health and wellness for the whole people through teamwork with access and compassion for all.

Our Objectives

(i)    To recruit, promote, train and discipline all grades of its Officers.

(ii)   To execute the general health policies approved by the Government.

(iii)  To provide the best possible curative medical services.

(iv)  To recommend ways and means of increasing the revenue of the Board and recommend the charging of fess for patients.

(v)    To ensure equitable distribution and judicious use of drugs.

(vi)   To provide for the employees on atmosphere of good working conditions for maximum out-put.

(vii)  To ensure monitoring and supervision of healthcare delivery at all times.

(viii) Project procure and distributes consumable materials and items required in all Hospitals/Dental Centres/Clinics.

(ix)   To manage hospitals & maintain equipment.

The State Hospitals Management Board at its head has a full time Chairman assisted by Part-time Board Members. The three Zonal Boards consist of part time chairpersons and members while the Permanent Secretary is the Accounting Officer and the Head of Administration.

–       Oyo State Hospitals Management Board operates presently through the following directorates, Medical Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Nursing Services (Clinical), Medical Laboratory Services, Maintenance, Personnel, Admin. & Supplies and Finance & Accounts.
