Oriire South Local Council Development Area was carved out of Oriire Local Government Council, Ikoyi-Ile. The creation of the council development area, along 31 others in the state came to been through the declaration by the Executive Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency,Senator Abiola Ajimobi in January, 2017. Four (4) out of the 10 ten political wards in the former Oriire local government constitute the LCDA. They include; Oolo, Ahoro-Dada,Ahoro-Oko and Eleesun Adeosun. The headquarters is sited at Ahoro-Dada.
The area is predominantly inhabited by Yorubas from Ogbomoso, Oyo and Ilorin extractions. People from other Nigerian tribes such as Fulani, Hausa also punctuate the area.
Presently, the LCDA is operating from three different locations (buildings) for administrative offices, namely; Ahoro-Dada Customary court building, a block of classrooms at Ahoro-Dada Primary school and Maternity centre, Ahoro-Dada. The population of the area cannot be presently ascertained but a far-reaching report of the National Population Commission of 1996 had the following figures to represent the population of major towns comprising the LCDA.

Oriire South LCDA is yet to have political functionaries at the helms of affairs. It is presently being managed by career officers headed by the Council Manager. The council manager is the administrative head, having the management team of Heads of Departments (HODs) from the eight departments namely; Admin and General Services; Finance and Supplies; works; Education and General Services; Agriculture and Natural Resources; Primary Health Care Services; Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics; Environmental Services.
The area is purely agrarian and supported by a large expanse of land good for planting of various crops and rearing of animals. Agricultural products or raw materials predominantly found in the area which can also serve as catalyst to Agro-Allied industries include;

There is a large deposit of granite potentials in the area, specifically the availability of huge rock deposit between Alaropo Nla and Dananu area of the LCDA.
