The Mission is to use the creation of this Local Council Development Area as a catalyst to establish and consolidate a government that is integrity – driven in order to improve people’s living standard
Our Objectives
- One of the objectives of this administration is to ensure efficient and effective management of Legislative, Executive and Judicial matters/affairs at the grass roots level.
- To boost the economy of this Local Council Development Area in the area of Trade, Commerce and investment by encouraging foreign private investors to partner with the Local Council Development Area.
- To facilitate sustainable development and democratic values in the Local Council Development Area.
- To make our health system preventive, accessible, affordable, promotive, rehabilitative, and curative.
- The enhancement of peace and security of lives and property in all the nooks and crannies of this Local Council Development Area.
- The engendering of a workable platform that will improve Teaching-Learning process at the Primary School level.
- As an agrarian Community, this Government will focus on the promotion of various aspect of agriculture vis-à-vis creating an enabling environment for agro-based industries.
IGANNA LOCAL Council Development Area was carved out of Old Iwajowa Local Government in December, 2016. Its headquarters is located in the heart of Iganna Town and the Secretariat Complex is situated along Iganna – Ilero road, Oke-Aafin Iganna. The seat of the LCDA – Iganna has a distance of about 128.8km to Ibadan. Iganna Local Council Development Area was bounded in the North, by Ilero (Iwa Local Council Development) and bounded in the East by Kajola Local Government, Okeho. The LCDA also shared boundary with Iwere-Ile (Iwajowa Local Government) while it was bounded in the South by Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government.
The inhabitants of the LCDA are predominantly Yorubas, living in their traditional settlements. Other ethnic nationalities like Hausa, Fulani, Egede, Ohori and Foreigners also reside within the Community.
The LCDA being a rural Community, took the advantage of endowed arable land, No wonder about 95 percent of the populace are farmers while others resort to trading and mining activities. A crop of public officers/civil servants also reside within the Community thereby adding values to the environment.
Agricultural products predominant in the LCDA are yam, cassava, yam-flour, cassava flour and so on. Gaari processing is a major agro Allied Industry which provides people with cheap jobs. It also boosts the socio-economy of the LCDA, owing to the availability of fertile forest, Cocoa, Kolanut, and Cashew are planted as cash crops.
The LCDA is blessed with one General Hospital under the control of Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Ibadan. The General Hospital is supported by other Health Centres spread across the LCDA.
There are Eight Petrol Station within the LCDA, Rural and Urban roads also adorn the LCDA territory.
Marketing is the driving force of the economy of the Small Scale Businesses. In this regard, the LCDA is blessed with good markets, namely: Yante and Oja-Oba markets which are daily markets while Olorunda market, Ofeegun market, Ola-Iya market are traded every five days.
Traditional Council: Iganna LCDA Traditional Council is headed by the Paramount Ruler of Iganna land, the Sabiganna of Iganna, His Royal Majesty, Oba Azeez Soliu Oyemonla, the permanent Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government Traditional Council and a permanent member of Oyo State Council of Obas.
The Traditional Council consists of other notable Traditional Chiefs, otherwise called the Baales. Among them are: the Bada of Iganna land, he is second in-command to the Sabiganna of Iganna, He is responsible for coordinating all other Baales and resolving of minor issues in the land.
Others Baales include: Baale Ayede, Baale Ikia, Balogun, Agoro of Iganna, Bashipa, Agbaakin, Baale Okuta aka, Balogun Ayede and Ikolaba, other adjourning Towns and Villages are headed by either Oba or Baale. Among these categories are: Baale of Elekokan, Baale Olokunola, Baale Adejumo, Baale Karimu, Baale Ofeegun, Baale Tudi, Baale Inamere, Baale Tapa and Baale Eleru.
Presently, there is no higher Institution in the LC DA, the Council is awaiting and looking unto the government to come to our aid in this regard by sitting a higher Institution of learning in our domain. However, there are Twenty-Five Primary Schools within the LCDA spanning from Iganna Town to other neigbouring Villages. It is supported by other Ten (10) Private Nursery and Primary Schools.
In the same vein, the LCDA has Four (4) Government Secondary Schools and Three (3) Private Secondary Schools.

The LCDA comprises of various Towns and Villages, among notable towns and villages are: Iganna, Elekokan, Lagboye, Karimu, Eleru, Ofeegun, Olokunola, Aba Tapa, Inamere, Ayede, Ikia, Onikoro, Joloko, Adekunle, Kisanija, Imode and Tudi. Others include: Olomopupo, Ikia, Ogbua, Aba Iseyin, Alajuba, Abowoyagba, Aba Ola-Iya, Aba Agunloye, Idi-Ose, Ode-dudu and Aba Balogun. The Iganna LCDA has Six (6) Federal Wards, namely;
Agbaakin I: This consist of Idi-Ose, Baptist Primary School Area, Opposite First Baptist Church iganna, Olowu Compound, Afunlele, Oke-Eso, Agbaakin Compound, Motor Park Area, and its opposite, Abalake I & II.
Agbaakin II: It consist of Community Primary School Ofeegun, Ofeegun Village, Health Centre Ofeegun, Eleeru Village, Community Primary School Tudi, Tudi Village, Ogbua Village, Ohori Village, Aba Iseyin I, Aba Iseyin II, Alajuba, Odedudu Village, Olomopupo Village, L. A. School, Abowoyagba Village, Ajegunle Market, Ola-Iya market, Ahoro Eri.
Shabiganna I: Consists of Ajimati Compound, Lemomu Compound, Abe-Ipin I & II, Health office, Ishagbon quarters, Court Hall, Library Area, Oba’s market and Eleede’s Compound.
Shabiganna II: Consist of Balogun, Akinnikan Compound, opposite Catholic Mission, Olokunola Compound, Owolola Compound, Sobaloju Compound, Onikoro Village I & II, Imode Village, Aba Aladura, Joloko I & II and Aba Agunloye.
Shabiganna III: It consist of Okuta Aka, Ayede Compound, Ayede Market, Bada I & II, Ikia I & II, Awerijaye, A.D.S. School, Okuta Apa and Jagun Compound.
Shabiganna IV: This consist Community Pry. School Elekokan I & II, Elekokan Village I & II, Community Pry School, Inamere, Abule Tapa, Olokunola Village, Community Pry. School Adejumo, Balogun Village, Aba Aderogba and Karimu Village.
